This year, the LCA Video Production Summer Program will be offered exclusively at Leisure City K‑8 Center for Summer 2026.

At Knowledge Builders, we believe every child has the power to help shape the world through their unique voice and vision. Our video production program is inspired by the wisdom of Gordon Parks, who said, “The camera is a weapon against poverty, against racism, against all sorts of social wrongs.” Guided by this belief, students are encouraged to see filmmaking not just as a skill, but as a powerful tool for expression, storytelling, and impact.

Whether they’re behind the camera, editing footage, or writing scripts, students are challenged to think outside the box and bring their personal flair to every frame. Through hands-on creation, they discover their own creative potential while learning how visual storytelling can move, inform, and inspire others.

Here, every child is empowered to turn everyday moments into extraordinary messages sparking waves of imagination, expression, and innovation that reach far beyond the screen. We can’t wait to see our students create the vision, capture the moment, and change the story.

2026 SUMMER CAMP:  Summer camp dates are June 15th through July 24th, 2026 (6 weeks).   Camp hours are Monday - Thursday, 9:00 AM  - 3:00 PM.  

Before care is available 8:30 AM - 9:00 AM.

​Your child can expect to be immersed in a creative, educational, and confidence-building experience with  hands on experiments, investigating, exploring, making, and planning projects that will incorporate all parts of video production.   Your child can expect to:

• Film and produce a Music Video, Documentary on a local social justice and  a 30-second TV Ad

• Create a Cross-Curricular Project

• Create a Podcast

• Create a virtual protest on a global social justice

​Breakfast and lunch provided by MDCPS Nutrition Department.  ​

​

​Field trips: Campers will enjoy fun-filled field trips to SkyZone, Launch Trampoine Center, Bird Bowling, Venetian Pool, C.B. Smith Water Park and Urban Air. The cost of field trips are FREE.

Lights, Camera, Action!

Our talented middle school campers just wrapped up an exciting project—they shot their very own music video! From planning the scenes and setting up the shots to directing, filming, and editing, our students worked together to bring their creative vision to life through video production.  Video was filmed in Wynwood and Brickell Avenue.
